Download GPlates
The current release of GPlates is GPlates
0.9.2, released in May 2008. You can download the GPlates 0.9.2 source code and
a Windows installer from SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=74515&package_id=74881
GPlates 0.9.2 compiles and runs on Linux and Windows XP. Qt 4.3 or above is
required.
GPlates is free software (also known as open-source software), licensed for
distribution under the GNU General Public License
(GPL), version 2.
Download GPlates-compatible data
The following GPlates-compatible data have been made available for use with
GPlates:

A global coastline file (in the Plates4 line-format) and a rotation
file (in the Plates4
rotation-format) may be downloaded from the EarthByte Project Resources page. Thanks to
the EarthByte Project for making these data-files available!

A sequence of time-dependent global raster images (JPEG images, generated from
GMT grid files of dynamic topography created by Bernhard Steinberger at NGU)
may be downloaded from the NGU FTP
site. Thanks to Bernhard Steinberger for making these raster images
available!
To load this sequence of images in GPlates:

Download the file “dynamic-topography.zip” from the NGU FTP site and unzip the file.

Pull down the GPlates File menu and select the operation Open Time
Dependent Global Raster Set….

Choose the “jpg” folder inside the “dynamic
topography” folder.
